Barbara has been a proud Members Choice Credit Union member for over 30 years, beginning her journey with us back in 1993, and she’s been with us ever since!
“I thought of y’all first! That’s why!”
she said with a smile when asked why she chose Members Choice for her most recent loan.
Barbara first joined Members Choice with her then-husband after deciding to leave their traditional bank behind. The difference was immediate.
“It was so much more personal and easier.”
That personal touch made all the difference, especially when life threw her a curveball early on. Going through a divorce and facing financial strain, she turned to us for help.
“I went in wanting to pay off my loan I had taken out, and without hesitation, they said, ‘We can help you — here’s a payment plan.’ It was just so easy and so nice.”
Over the years, Barbara has continued to rely on the steady support she’s found here.

So Many Amazing Reasons to Join a Credit Union
A member came into the branch to open an account. She had applied online for a loan during lunch and came in after her shift to open the account because she had heard of the perks of joining a credit union.
She said she was “mind-blown” by all the things Members Choice has to offer. At the end of opening her new account, she mentioned, “whether I get approved or not, I am very glad I opened an account regardless.”
A member, dissatisfied with her current credit union was recommended to Members Choice by a friend. Our member advocate, Skylar Askaryar, helped her open a membership and guided her through a plan to improve her credit score.
Although she initially qualified only for an Opportunity checking account, she now has a goal and a plan to convert to a Complete Checking and apply for a credit card after 12 months.
A member came in with his daughter wanting to help her learn how to build credit by getting her first credit card. Our Member Advocate, Sheena Chan, sat down with them and explained how credit cards work.
The brand-new member said, “I’m happy I don’t have to depend on my parents any longer!”
A member called us and our Member Advocate, Alex Chavez, checked her credit report and noticed she had a very low credit limit on her credit cards at other financial institutions.
Alex explained how we can help her extend her credit card limit and lower the interest rate. She was excited when she got approved for a higher limit and mentioned to Alex that she would be closing her account at Bank of America and moving her finances over to Members Choice because she felt as though she hadn’t ever received any benefit from them. apply.
